I went to the Kamenose Landslide History Archive in Kashiwara City, located on the border between Osaka and Nara prefectures! Just hearing the name makes you wonder what history it is, Kamenose? What does it mean? So I went to find out more. Kamenose is a large-scale landslide that occurred in the 1930s. Then, in the 1960s, a large-scale countermeasure project was carried out, and the landslide was prevented. The Kamenose Landslide Archive was established within the countermeasure area, and there are exhibitions of materials and tours of the facilities, and activities are being carried out to prevent the landslide from being forgotten. The main attraction is a tour of the facilities! You can tour the inside of the drainage tunnel and the former Osaka Railway Kamese Tunnel. The project mapping you can see inside the tunnel is a spectacular sight! Don’t forget that reservations are required!
